Last year we had a bookmark contest at the library (open to anyone, not just children) and it went over very well! We had some beautiful submissions. Here are our rules for this year:

Submit your bookmark design on an 8 1/2 by 2” piece of paper.
Print your name, age, school, etc. on the back of your entry.
Anyone is eligible to enter.
Dates of the contest are March 9 through April 22, 2009.
All entries will be displayed for viewing at the Greenwood County Library.

Marf, I am very impressed with your "ning"--I didn't even know what it was until I clicked on the Childlib email link. I know I will be using some of your great ideas and I hope to figure out how to post some humble ideas of my own. The lunar new year starts January 26 of this year (2009) ushering in the Year of the Ox, our good friend as evidenced by the book, How the Ox Star Fell From Heaven by Lily Toy Hong.
